What Furniture Do You Need for an Apartment?
When you’re moving into a new apartment, there are a lot of things to consider. From furniture to decor, it can feel like one big blur of choices and decisions.
Here’s a quick guide to some of the most important furniture items that you’ll need for your new home.
Bedroom furniture:
If you’re moving into a bedroom-only apartment, chances are that the first thing on your list will be a bed. But don’t stop there! There are so many other pieces of bedroom furniture that can help make your room feel more like home. We recommend getting at least one end table and one nightstand, as well as a dresser or chest of drawers (depending on how much space you have). Bed frames come in many different styles and sizes—you may want to find one with built-in storage space or drawers if you’re tight on space.
Living room furniture:
Your living room is where you’ll spend most of your time when you’re home—so make sure it has everything you need! If possible, we recommend getting two couches: one for sitting and watching TV or reading, and another for lounging around or doing work on your laptop. You’ll also want some sort of coffee table or end table for drinks, magazines and other items. The rest of your living room furniture can be whatever you want—you might want to get a couple of armchairs, or perhaps a recliner if you have space for one.
