A COLORFUL CELEBRATION OF MARDI GRAS OUTDOOR

Beads and bling: It’s a Mardi Gras thing!

Mardi Gras, one of the most famous festivals in the world, is celebrated on the eve of Lent by many Catholics and other Christians. The festival originated in Medieval Europe as a pre-Lenten feast among those who were privileged enough to be able to afford it. The celebration would last for hours and sometimes days after Fat Tuesday - Ash Wednesday and eventually became known as Mardis Gras or Shrove Tuesday.

The Mardi Gras celebration comes with color, music, food, and dancing. Many people believe it is a Christian holiday but it actually began as a pagan holiday celebrating the end of winter and the arrival of spring. The very first Mardi Gras celebrations were held in ancient Rome. The traditional colors of Mardi Gras are purple, green, and gold. Other colors have been added over time including pink, white and black.

The most famous of all the Mardi Gras celebrations are found in New Orleans, Louisiana. This celebration is known for its colorful parades and decadent parties where revelers wear masks and costumes to disguise their identities from the public eye. It is celebrated outdoors with festive parades, dancing, and singing in the streets. Every year on this day, people also wear colorful costumes and go out with friends. It is a festival to celebrate Christians’ victory over death. Mardi Gras is an event that you don’t want to miss out on. Have fun and show off your wild side, but keep it classy!

“It’s a great party, and anyone who doesn’t enjoy Mardi Gras is not of this world.”
